Management information

Please don’t forget to sign up for the CEC Staff day on 22 April. Invited are CEC employees, everyone with a workplace at CEC, PhD students in Environmental Science and members of the CEC kollegium. We expect all employees to take part, and hope that as many as you who are invited will participate. Easter next week
Next week is school holidays, and there will be fewer colleagues around. Friday, 15 April and Monday, 19 April are both Easter public holidays, and the Ecology building and the café will be closed and no administrative staff will be on duty. Therefore, there will be no Friday fika or talk next Friday, 15 April.

Let’s get better at sharing cheerful things that happen and be a little proud of things going on at CEC! This week we have heard the following cheerful news in the corridors:

Jesica Murcia Lopes has received a scholarship from The Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography (SSAG) of SEK 50 000 for her PhD project “Land conflicts, cattle, and the tropical forests of the Colombian Amazon”.

Ullrika Sahlin, Johanna Alkan Olsson, Henrik Smith and William Sidemo Holm, who are some of the researchers behind the research programme BIOPATH (Pathways towards an efficient alignment of the financial system with the needs of biodiversity), has – trough the programme – been granted funding from Mistra over a period of four years. The total amount for the whole programme is of SEK 50 million.

Sustainability Week 2–7 May 2022
Sustainability Week is an annual event in Lund organised as a joint venture by Lund University and the City of Lund. Expert Workshop: Sustainable Welfare without Growth
20 May 10:00 – 16:00 - The School of Social Work invites you to a one-day workshop on the topic sustainable welfare without growth. At the workshop, results from the research projects “Sustainable Welfare for a New Generation of Social Policy” (Swedish Energy Agency) and “Postgrowth Welfare Systems” (Lund University’s Research Programme for Excellence - Sustainable Development) will be presented and discussed. The new IPCC-report: It’s now or never
The IPCC launched the third part of the Sixth Assessment Report, Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of Climate Change on 11 April. The report focuses on emission reductions and issues concerning technology, energy, land use, transport, industry, and more. Mistra funds research on biodiversity and the financial system
