Erik Swietlicki

Responsible for research development

Erik Swietlicki is a leading scientist within the Aerosol Group at the Division of Nuclear Physics at Lund University. He has more than 25 years of experience in atmospheric aerosol science. 

He is co-author of more than 120 peer-reviewed articles dealing with various aspects related to atmospheric aerosols (measurement technology, emissions, particle formation, transformation and dynamics, particle hygroscopic growth and aerosol-cloud interactions, long-range transport, source-receptor relationships, particle deposition in the human respiratory tract, population exposure). He has participated in 8 EU-projects.

He served as President of the European Aerosol Assembly (2004–2006), which is an association of all European national aerosol societies and the organization behind the European Aerosol Conferences, and as President of the Nordic Society for Aerosol Research (2000–2004).

He is currently Managing Director of the Consortium for Aerosol Science and Technology at Lund University, and Deputy coordinator for the Swedish Strategic Research Area MERGE (ModElling the Regional and Global Earth system, 2010–2019.
