ClimBEco annual meetings

The annual summer and winter meetings are highlights in our interdisciplinary agenda. We gather twice per year to network, listen to inspiring guests, and engage in discussions and workshops.

ClimBEco Summer meeting 2021
September 9-10

Theme: "Food and...everything else"
Place: Zoom and small-group meetings in Lund, Gothenburg and Malmö

Written title, "Food and" followed by a scribbled out list of many words including "land use, water, climate, biodiversity, livelihoods, health". The long list is replaced by the words "everything else". Subtitle: What can technology do? What can policy do? What can I do?

At this ClimBEco meeting we will take the lens of food to cumulatively consider some of society’s most grand environmental challenges. Specifically, we’ll focus on the consumption side of the food system in a European context. What role can food techonology play in supporting a sustainable, nutritionally sound and culturally rich diet? How can and should policy measures steer consumption? And where can we as individuals impact change?

Guest speakers for this meeting include Karolina Östbring and Jeanette Purhagen from the Dept. of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition at LTH, and Mark Brady from the AgriFood Economics Centre. Complete programme to be presented in August 2021.

Registration link has been sent to ClimBEco PhD students via email.
