The effects of climate change are already visible and threatens life as we know it. Its impacts include extreme and changing weather patterns, drought, wildfires, weakening sea currents and increasing sea levels. If left unchecked, it will provoke mass migrations, affect global agriculture and every ecosystem on the planet. There is also an increasing discussion about diversity and the linkages with climate change. Diverse wildlife and plant species help ecosystems to thrive, protect from natural disasters and regulates climate. But species are going extinct at an increasing rate and many of the world’s biodiversity hotspots are in countries with high poverty, food insecurity and intensifying climate change. What personal implications are there connected to climate and biodiversity? What measures are taken and how are they integrated into our legal and monetary systems?
