Workshop on creating scientific posters

Posters are a common and valuable tool in the academic community as they summarize scientific information and highlight results to generate discussion. But what makes a scientific poster a good poster, and how can you shape the format so that it attracts a crowd and conveys the right message?
This workshop aims to give you tips and tricks that you can apply directly to your poster to make it stand out from the crowd and thereby draw attention, control eye movement and convey information. It will also introduce you to some of the tools available at Lund University.
The workshop will be divided into two parts. There will be a lecture in the morning focusing on poster design and visual thinking, followed by a workshop session in the afternoon with an introduction to the LU poster template and a friendly feedback session on potential posters you have made or are working on.
In this workshop, we will work with the following:
Visuals in Science
(Workshop in the morning)
- Colour settings
- Typography
- Layout
- Language
Poster templates and sharing
(Workshop in the afternoon)
- LU graphic profile
- LU poster template
- Feedback session and discussion
This workshop is open to all early-career researchers at Lund University (i.e. Postdoc and PhD students). Spaces are limited to 40 participants. The onsite workshop will be in English and coffee will be provided.
