Workshop on urban densification and development on agricultural land
Lund University and the EU project Soils For Europe (SOLO) invite you to a series of workshops on urbanization and land issues, in collaboration with Hållbar Utveckling Skåne’s network Forests, Agriculture and Water. This is a unique opportunity to help identify knowledge gaps in the field and influence future EU research.
We are organizing a series of workshops on the theme of urbanization and land issues in Skåne. You are welcome to participate in one or several. The first two workshops focused on contaminated land, as well as soil management and health. The next theme is: Urban densification and development on agricultural land. Our target audience includes professionals who work with land in some capacity—such as farmers, municipalities and government agencies, construction companies, and others.
Agenda:
- Welcome and introductions
- Katarina Hedlund, Lund University: Introduction to the workshop
- Fredrik Wilhelmsson, Lund University and AgriFood: To build or not to build on farmland – a socio-economic perspective
- Anders Larsson, SLU: Urban sprawl – Sweden in an international context
- Discussion on the current state of knowledge in Skåne. We will explore the topic from various perspectives and work together to identify what we know and what knowledge is still missing.
How to participate
You can join either in person in Lund or online (only during the presentations). Please note that space is limited and advance registration is required. Register your interest via the following link – luland.lu.se. Deadline for registration is October 6. The event is held in Swedish.
