Coastal environments act as effective carbon sinks – known as Blue Carbon sinks – and therefore play a role in climate mitigation.
Despite this, their potential has long been underestimated in management and policy contexts. In this webinar, researchers Martin Gullström and Maria Asplund will explain how the Baltic Sea coast can contribute to carbon sequestration, and how landscape design and land use influence this vital ecosystem service.
