I work as project manager in a project that investigates constraints on the expansion of organic farming in Sweden, and am additionally involved in research and outreach activities in other projects. My main interest lies in developing and communicating ecological research that helps meet society’s most pressing knowledge needs, in terms of informing action and policy towards sustainable resource use and climate change mitigation.
I have a PhD in ecology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), where I studied the role that insects play in driving how an ecosystem responds to nitrogen eutrophication. All questions related to the societal relevance of ecological interactions are of special interest to me (especially if insects are involved!). Within this topic I have for example done commissioned work for the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency on pollinating insects, and worked with SLU to synthesize knowledge needs in plant protection research.
I'm interested in all forms of popular science communication, and have for example written several pieces for the Envirobites blog, and entered the (so far quite narrow) field of short animated ecological film narration.
