Who can apply?
The Research School is open to students who are already enrolled as PhD students, and according to the following eligibility criteria (one fulfilled criterion is enough for eligibility):
The PhD student is included on the participant list of BECC and/or MERGE
The main supervisor is included on the participant list of BECC and/or MERGE
The PhD student is affiliated with a department belonging to the Faculty of Science at Lund University, and has a research education topic of relevance for the research fields of BECC and/or MERGE

Accepted PhD students agree to actively participate in the research school during two years. This includes to participate in the annual meetings (one per year), the ClimBEco introduction course, and at least one additional ClimBEco Phd course (introduction course included) during the two-year programme time. The supervisors are encouraged to participate during the annual meetings. 30 new PhD students can be admitted every year.

When you join ClimBEco graduate research school, you will enter an inspiring research environment where you will:
- Meet and network with other PhD students and senior scientists

- Get introduced to the field of interdisciplinary research in the context of climate & climate change, biodiversity and ecosystem services
- Have the possibility to attend a mentoring programme for personal development, communication skills, networking and career planning
How much time do I have to invest?
You are active in ClimBEco for a period of two years. During this time, there is a minimum number of activities that you are requested to participate in:
- The annual meetings (one per year)
- The ClimBEco introduction course about interdisciplinarity in research
- At least one ClimBEco-affiliated PhD course per year (introduction course included)
Apart from these minimum requirements, it is up to you to make the most of your ClimBEco-time by, for example, participate in the mentoring programme and suggest interesting workshops or seminars. All ClimBEco activities are extra-curricular to your ordinary research education.
Do I fit in ClimBEco?
The research school is open to students who are already enrolled as PhD students from different disciplines according to the eligibility criteria described above. We think that your research can add to our interdisciplinary discourse on the interactions among climate, Earth system, society, land use, and climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation.
Who is behind ClimBEco?
ClimBEco is funded by the strategic research areas BECC, MERGE and the Faculty of Science at Lund University. The research school has a Stearing group, a Coordinator and a Vice Coordinator appointed by
