Financial support

For larger individual research grants, for example ERC grants, you can apply for funding to have the application reviewed by an external consultant (maximum SEK 10,000).

For larger research applications and consortium applications, for example within EU H2020/Horizon Europe, Mistra programs and KAW Advanced Research Grants, you can apply for financial resources for planning, meetings, writing etcetera (maximum SEK 20,000 expenditures, SEK 10,000 consultant, 1 month’s salary).

Financial support can be applied for by CEC employees and Fellows, as well as guest researchers at CEC. For larger strategic research applications, more than one group from the CEC environment must participate as applicant and/or the project should be coordinated from CEC.

Obligations for researchers who receive financial support

•    Project information is to be presented on CEC’s website
•    CEC must be acknowledged where applicable

Acknowledgements to CEC will typically appear in journal papers, oral and poster presentations and project information material.

Large projects receiving support from CEC will also be asked to arrange seminars and/or workshops at CEC.

How to request financial support

When you find an interesting call, please contact the CEC Research Coordinator to discuss what kind of support could be available.

In order to request financial support, you need to submit information on the intended research and what you intend to use the money for:

  • Funder and call (please also provide a link)
  • Preliminary title
  • Scope

  • Management
  • Amount asked for (fill in a full cost calculation, link below)
  • In case you apply for running costs - what will you use the money for?

E-mail the information requested in a word document together with the full cost application to the CEC Research Coordinator who will forward the application to the CEC Management group. Based on this information, the CEC Management group will decide whether to provide support and to what extent.

The extent of support will depend on the strategic value of the research to CEC, the expectations of success and available resources. An early dialogue between the applicant(s), the CEC Research Coordinator and the CEC Management group is encouraged.

The decision will typically be communicated within 2–4 weeks.
