How can BECC and MERGE integrate IPCC and IPBES?
Due to the situation, concerning the corona virus/covid-19 this session has been adjusted and will be broadcasted via digital channels.
This session aims to spark thoughts and discussions on how the strategic research areas BECC and MERGE can integrate IPCC and IPBES into ongoing and future research. Following the session on “How to integrate IPCC and IPBES”, session 3 will investigate possibilities on how to implement combined climate and biodiversity research in the research fields covered by BECC and MERGE. The topic is introduced by two presentations that address national funding and implementation aspects regarding research on synergies and conflicts related to IPCC and IPBES. Following this, group discussions will take place that specifically target how researchers in the networks can integrate combined IPCC and IPBES questions in their research. Finally, a panel consisting of the organisation group discuss the knowledge gaps and possibilities for this future research field.
