Collaboration with external partners

Dialogue and collaboration with societal actors outside academia play a vital role in all CEC:s activities.

CEC conducts education and research concerning important societal challenges with environmental, climate and sustainability aspects. Continuous dialogue with different actors in society are essential to identify relevant challenges, develop ongoing research and initiate new projects in collaboration. Dialogue between research and society builds on mutual learning and is conducted across sectors and disciplines. Regular stakeholder contact also leads to research results being increasingly made available for and used by society to inform decision-making at various levels. The principle of academic independence permeates all collaboration, so that research critically scrutinizes society and its development.

In order to continuously develop and increase collaboration of researchers and student at CEC with society, CEC offers support, for example by arranging activities where research and society can meet, offering information and advice in relation to applications for cross- or transdisciplinary projects, and temporary financial support to allow for work with reports and syntheses on topical environmental and climate issues.
