Show your birdhouse at Lund Culture Night!
The Nature School in Lund and the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation are some of the organizations that give tips on how to help decrease the housing shortage for the birds by building birdhouses, see tips below. But the birds are a large group that aren't prioritized in the housing debate and more birdhouses are needed!
The Centre for Environmental and Climate Research (CEC) welcomes all primary and secondary school students to build creative birdhouses during the summer and early autumn. The birdhouses can be built at home, in youth recreation centres of the school or at the Vattenhallen Science Center in Lund, which organizes a birdhouse competition during the year and is open all summer, read more below.
Join the exhibition by submitting this registration form and send a photo of the birdhouse to stina [dot] johannesson [at] cec [dot] lu [dot] se no later than 8 September. Since the registration form is in Swedish you're also most welcome to register by contacting stina [dot] johannesson [at] cec [dot] lu [dot] se.
Bring your birdhouse and show it at our exhibition in the Botanical Garden at Kulturnatten in Lund on 21 September. More information will be sent to those who have registered in the beginning of September.
Here you will find the Nature School's construction tips and information on which birdhouses are suitable for what birds: https://www.lund.se/tunnelholkar and https://www.lund.se/uddaholkmodeller and a pedagogical film about how to build a birdhouse.
