ClimBEco stands for Climate, Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a changing world. It is a two-year graduate research school that promotes interdisciplinary research by supporting PhD students in networking and learning across different fields of study.
Our mission is to equip future researchers and decision-makers with the capacity to identify, assess and integrate knowledge from different sources and disciplines. Participants develop their analytical capacity by working with multiple methods and theories, through self-reflection and by learning from reference points beyond their own areas of expertise. While at ClimBEco, PhD students are able to harness and train their skills in creating synergies and handling complexities and conflicts where they arise. By stimulating networks, we aim to empower our participants and alumni so that they will confidently contribute to societal change, whether within academia or in the broader society.
What ClimBEco offers
In order to be able to understand and tackle the huge threats posed by climate change and biodiversity loss, decisions in society must be supported by knowledge from many different scientific disciplines and points of view. In light of this, ClimBEco’s strategy is to provide activities that strengthen the PhD student’s interdisciplinary expertise, as well as improve their skills to find, explore and understand links to other disciplines and stakeholders. When you join ClimBEco graduate research school, you will enter an inspiring research environment where you can:
