The Climate Research School of the Bolin Centre for Climate Research, Stockholm University
The graduate research schools the Bolin Climate Research School (CRS) and ClimBEco, each situated within their respective national Strategic Research Areas*, have a formal agreement of cooperation in place since spring 2020. In effect, this cooperation opens up the opportunity for PhD students enrolled in the respective graduate research schools to access a broader curriculum of courses and to network nationally with scholars in similar fields of study.
Enrolled PhD students of the Bolin Climate Research School and ClimBEco can apply to and receive financial support for taking part in courses offered through both of the research schools. “With this cooperation in place, we avoid reinventing the wheel and can expand our course curriculum by taking full advantage of high-quality courses already in place” says Anna Ekberg, coordinator of ClimBEco. The cooperation also opens up for opportunities to create new courses and activities of common interest to both research schools and SRAs.
ClimBEco PhD students should first contact their research administrator Ylva van Meeningen (ylva [dot] van_meeningen [at] cec [dot] lu [dot] se) before registering for a course offered by the Bolin Climate Research School.
* Stockholm University and Lund University are the hosts of the Strategic Research Areas (SRAs) The Bolin Centre for Climate Research respectively BECC and MERGE, all three of which carry out research of the highest international quality, focused on the areas of climate science, biodiversity and ecosystem services.
