About me
I discovered my interest in environmental science during a voluntary ecological year, where I worked in environmental education. After this year, I first studied pharmacy at the University of Tübingen, worked as a pharmacist and decided to study geoecology at the University of Bayreuth in Germany. I finished my Master's degree in the spring of 2022 and I am now happy to combine my interests in toxicology and in environmental processes in my PhD project in the field of ecotoxicology.
About my research
I am a PhD student and work on the project ChemFreeGarden. Within this project, I want to find out, how soil organisms, biodiversity and important ecosystem services like pollination are affected by the use of pesticides and other hazardous chemicals. My study areas are urban gardens and parks in Lund Municipality.
In my research, I will combine exposure experiments and molecular biological investigations in the lab with field experiments looking at chemical pollution, biodiversity and pollination in urban gardens. I also plan to interview garden keepers about their attitudes towards pesticide use.
