A pause for menopause in the workplace

Menopause is a natural phase of life, but suffering through it doesn't have to be. There are strategies available to help both individuals and their workplaces thrive during this time.
In this session, we will explore the physiological changes that occur during perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, and how hormonal fluctuations can impact a woman's health and well-being well beyond her reproductive cycle and the occasional hot flash.
We aim to clarify common misconceptions about the health risks and benefits associated with various treatment and prevention options. In particular, we will highlight the benefits of resistance training as an effective way to prevent and alleviate many health challenges associated with menopause, and what a workplace can do to support its employees going through this phase of life.
Presenting will be Åsa Rippe (physiotherapist, Gerdahallen) and Cheryl Sjöström (project manager, Centre for Environmental and Climate Science, Lund University).
This presentation is part of the "A Pause for Menopause in the Workplace" testbed project, funded by the Lund University Sustainability Fund.
