LU Land Breakfast seminar #6: Invasive alien plants - challenges and interventions
Invasive alien species are one of the big threats to biodiversity and ecosystems. According to the UN:s Sustainable Development Goals, interventions to prevent the negative impact of such species should be in place by 2020. But which species will be handled, when and why are they problematic, and how will climate change affect the challenges already encountered with invasive species? During today's seminar, we will discuss which challenges and trade-offs we are facing, and learn more about how the Nordic countries work on this issue.
This event is arranged jointly be LU Land, Pufendorf Institutes theme "Perspectives on invasive plants" and the Botanical Garden in Lund.
Speakers:
Hans Henrik Bruun, University of Copenhagen
Mora Aronsson, SLU Swedish Species Information Centre
Moderator:
Bente Eriksen, Botanical Garden in Lund
