COSHE Seminar: Erik Clarkson
On Monday 20/5, Computational Science for Health and Environment hosts another COSHE seminar.
The speaker is Erik Clarkson who will talk about Analysis of single biomolecule trajectories.
Abstract: Cell-cell interactions are intrinsic to communication and decision-making in our bodies. In experimental studies of these, labeled biomolecules are recorded in a movie using fluorescence microscopy. After some pre-analysis, Brownian trajectories of each molecule are obtained. With inference techniques it is then possible to improve the understanding of the bimolecular interactions, quantifying their “binding parameters” from the trajectories. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the analysis steps involved and then delve into the details of pushing the limits of time-resolution.
