CEC Research Seminars - Permanent grasslands: Effects of land use and environment on biodiversity and ecosystem services
As our first speaker for the CEC Research Seminars series, we are delighted to welcome Prof. Nina Buchmann from the Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zürich.
Abstract: Permanent grasslands cover large areas in Europe and thus provide many ecosystem services. However, land use practices, land use change as well as climate change affect their biodiversity and thus their ecosystem services in many ways. Results will be presented from biodiversity-ecosystem functioning experiments as well as economic assessments of land use change and climate change on the multifunctionality of temperate grasslands.
Moderator: Natascha Kljun
