– We see great opportunities for both researchers and students at Lund University. Climate-KIC is an important arena to deliver concrete solutions to the climate challenge, says Torbjörn von Schantz, Vice-Chancellor of Lund University.

Susanne Pedersen, Director of Climate-KIC Nordic, is pleased to welcome Lund University as a new partner:

– Not only is Lund University one of the oldest and biggest academic institutions in the region but we also see this new partnership as a great opportunity for strengthening our collaboration across country borders in the vibrant Øresund region with Copenhagen, a Climate-KIC partner, as its capital. The Øresund region hosts almost four million inhabitants and it is famous for its climate ambitious profile. We believe there are a wealth of openings for collaboration in our growing Nordic network between a strong academic partner like Lund University, cities and corporates.

In addition to participation in research and innovation projects, the partnership will also bring new opportunities for students at Lund University.

Ten students from Lund University participate in this year's Climate-KIC Summer School "The Journey", where students from all over the world have the opportunity to develop sustainable entrepreneurship skills during a five-week working trip in Europe. In August, Lund University hosts a part of "The Journey", and welcomes 45 European students to Sweden for two weeks.
