About me:
Before starting my PhD, I did a master’s in physics at Lund University, focusing on machine learning and computational models applied to biological systems.
About my research:
Direct reprogramming can transform cells from one type to another. In my research, I perform single-cell analysis on the reprogramming of glial cells to PVALB neurons. PVALB neurons are essential to curing several neurological diseases but difficult to produce, while glial cells are abundant in the brain. I predict novel transcription factors that are important for efficient PVALB conversion, to improve current reprogramming protocols.
I am also developing machine learning models to classify skin tumors and their borders. This project uses hyperspectral imaging data with the goal of performing non-intrusive, patient-specific diagnoses that aid surgeons in their decision-making.
