My research is directed towards the management of environmental systems given the current state of knowledge. Special interest is the treatment of uncertainty in scientific communication, which includes building computational templates for solving environmental problems related to decision making, and addressing questions related to decision makers perception of information and which impact uncertainty may have on the systems to be managed.
• Environmental decision making under uncertainty
• Philosophy of risk and uncertainty
• Ecological risks and climate change
• Reliability analysis of environmental systems
• Bayesian and predictive inference
• Fishery management
• Biodiversity and ecosystem services
• Invasive species
• Chemical regulation
PhD in Ecology at Lund University 2010. Thesis “From data to decision - learning by probabilistic risk analysis of biological invasions”
Leaderships
2012 Workpackage leader EU-project CADASTER with focus on the Integration of QSARs within hazard and risk assessment.
2012 - 2013 Projectleader of the project “Towards decision making under uncertainty” which is part of PLANFISH.

Upcoming conferences
SRA-E Trondheim June 17-19 2013
The Gordon Research Conference on Computer-Aided Drug Design July 21-26 2013
Sarfraz Iqbal 2013 Environmental modelling and uncertainty (main supervisor during Feb 2012- Feb 2013)
Join our efforts to learn more about modelling and inference for decision making!
I supervise projects for master students from e.g. Environmental, Computer or Information Sciences, Mathematical Statistics or Risk Management.
Current I am interested in projects related to:
• The use non-testing information in chemical regulation and the treatment of uncertainty
• Emulators to understand and validate complex models in for environmental decision making
• Markov modeling of cod stable state
• Perception of uncertainty in environmental risk assessments
You are welcome to suggest other projects!
